10 ways to use your pom poms

Have you caught the pom pom making bug? Are you cranking them out but have no idea what to do with them now that you've made them? I'm going to spark some inspiration for you, using items you may already have around your home and give you some ideas for simple projects you can make using pom poms. Ready? Let's get making!

Pom Pom & Tassel Garland

Go bold with a lush garland. I love this layered one using big pom poms, smaller wool ones and tassels. If you want to learn how to make pom pom garlands, check out my previous blog post, they are really simple! Or better yet, grab a kit.

Pom Pom Flowers

I love this DIY. Get some thick wire (about 35cm long) and bed the tip by 3cm. Hook that tip under the strong string in the middle of the pom pom and fold down. Get some florist tape from a hobby store and wrap the "stem" in tape all the way down the bottom. Pop in a vase!

Pom Pom Wall Hanging

I loooooove these! How gorgeous is this? The trick is really big, fluffy pom poms. Don't make them too dense so that you can squish them in together. Use a canvas netting and tie them on. Attach the netting to dowel and hang!

Pom Pom Earrings

How gorgeous are these? Just the sunny, vibrant accessories we need right now. These can be made so simply just take it in pieces. Make 3 embroidery floss tassels (like the ones you make in the Tassel Earring Kit) and then use a short jewellery wire to collect them at the bottom, feed it through the centre of the pom pom and attach to an earring hook or hangar.

Pom Pom Wreath

How gorgeous is this take on a wreath? They've use a simple willow wreath base and just tied on the pom poms. I think the trick with this kind of project is choosing a colour scheme and sticking to it. I love the pink and mustard combination here.

Market Baskets

Beach bag, market basket, storage basket... whatever kind of basket you have a home I can 100% tell you that it'll bring you joy with a pom pom on it. Look at these beauties! Go big, go bright. This is such a simple upgrade to something you might already have a at home. Long may the French market bag trend last!

Pom Pom Cushions

What a simple way to update a cushion cover! I love the contrast with the black & white pillow and the pop of yellow. So good! Do you have a sofa pillow that could use an update? Make 4 pom poms and sew each one to a corner and you're done!

Window Mobile

I think this is such a cool way of adding a bit of colour to a window. I'm also a big fab of birch trees (might be my favourite after the White Pine... yes I have a list of my all-time favourite trees). Birch is right up there in 2nd place! 😂 It looks like they've used felt balls here but I think this would work equally well with small-sized pom poms too.

Pom Pom Fairy Lights

We have our Christmas tree lights up several months of the year. I love how they make the living room so cosy in the winter evenings. When I saw this idea, I thought... I have to add pom poms to ours! These would look so cool in a tween or teen bedroom draped around their bed or desk. I don't think you need to wrap the lights with tape but simply tie a pom pom between each light.
