Q: MY CHILD WANTS TO LEARN TO SEW. WHAT KIND OF MACHINE SHOULD I GET?

A: We get this question a lot and the best answer is to buy a machine that they can grow into. It doesn't need to be the top of the line or cost a small fortune. Lewisham & Deptford Sewing Machines carry lots of wonderful second-hand sewing machines for a fraction of the price (£60+) and they come with a warranty! What we would recommend avoiding however, is anything at the £50 mark or below that is marketed more as a toy than a machine.

Q: I WANT TO BOOK A SEWING PARTY IN SOMERSET / DORSET. HOW DOES IT WORK?

A: I'd be happy to chat about hosting your child's sewing birthday party in SW England with you! Fill out our party enquiry form with your preferred dates and take a look at our party projects too.

Our parties are small but memorable. Kids will learn sewing and craft skills that will last them a lifetime and take home a gorgeous hand-sewn project at the end of the party.

Our parties start with up to 6 kids for £210, which includes myself or one of my craft tutors to run the 90-minute craft workshop, all materials needed for the workshop and postcard invites to send to all your guests.

We require a non-refundable deposit of £50 to confirm the booking.

On the day, I will arrive at your house or venue 30 minutes before the party starts to set-up. Then the fun begins! All parties are 2 hours long. We'll craft for 90 minutes and the kids can enjoy cake and snacks at the end.

Final payment is due on the day of the party. Card payments are available.

Q: DO YOU OFFER SEWING PARTIES FOR BOYS TOO?

A: Of course! While sewing does tend to be more popular with girls, we have taught plenty of boys to sew too! The mice in beds can easily become pirate mice, the cactus plants are pretty gender neutral and I think it's safe to say... everyone loves to make a POM-POM! Find more party project ideas here or get in touch.

A: I am now based Sherborne, West Dorset. I can cater to parties across West Dorset and Somerset. See my travel radius below... :)

Q: HOW MUCH DOES A SEWCIAL CIRCLE PARTY COST?

A: Sewcial Circle parties start at £210 for a group of 6. Price includes a tutor (almost always me!) to run the sewing workshop part of the party as well as all materials and equipment for the workshop.
